"Experiencing the Presence of God"
Are you hungry for God?  Come join us for a time that will focus on studying the Scriptures and dialoguing with God.  Beginning on Friday, March 26th at 7 pm and then continuing all day on Saturday, March 27th at our Stroudwater campus.  Curt and Marge Conn, Pam Brittingham's parents, will be with us to lead the time.  The total cost per person is $20, which includes lunch on Saturday and the workbook. Kingdom Kids' Easter Egg Hunt
When?  Palm Sunday, March 28th directly following Sunday service 
Where?  The "hunt" will take place here at our Stroudwater Campus
(1520 Westbrook Street, Portland). 
More details?  All children need to have an adult with them. 
Parents, there will be a sign-up sheet this Sunday (March 14th)
at the registration desk at church. 
Also note: On March 28th, during the Kingdom Kids service, we will be decorating Easter Egg bags for the children to collect their eggs in. 
Please remind your children that we will need to wear
shoes/boots that are appropriate for the weather.

Chili/Chowder Cook-off: DATE CHANGE   

The Best Chili and Best Chowder titles are up for grabs once again at this year’s CHILLI/CHOWDER COOKOFF! Come to the Stroudwater campus on Sunday, March 28th directly after the service to sample and vote for your favorite chili and chowders.

Participants, please note, doors open at 8:15 am to drop off your dish. 

And then… after we enjoy all of the delicious competitor’s  entries, there will be a baptism in the sanctuary!

Baptism Service

Join us for a baptism service in the sanctuary directly following the chili and chowder cook-off on Sunday, March 28th. 

 If you are interested in being baptized or have questions about baptism, there will be a brief class in the Cinemagic lobby directly following the service March 14th & 21st, please attend one or the other.

Think Spring! Think Sea Dogs!
Before you know it, summer will be here, so why not sign up for Portland Sea Dogs tickets and dream of warm sunshine, outdoor fun with family & friends, hot dogs, and ice cream sandwiches!  This year's game is scheduled for Sunday, July 11th at 1:00 pm against the New Britain Rock Cats!  Reserve time in your calendar now to enjoy the game!  See the Sea Dogs table in the hallway starting Sunday, March 14th to purchase your tickets ($7 each, checks payable to Stroudwater). You can also sign up online!

Root Cellar Service Opportunity for Men
The Men’s Ministry is currently looking for men ages 18 and up to volunteer time on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 6 - 10 pm at the Root Cellar in Portland.  We are starting a partnership with the Root Cellar to be role models to the young men that spend their free time and don't have any male mentors in their lives.  This could make a big difference in these young men's lives.  If you’re interested please contact Mike Eugley via the church office.

Alpha Class began January 11th
What do you think about God? Christianity? Skeptical? Unsure? Just curious? Great! A low-key, discussion-based venue, Alpha is the perfect place to figure out your questions and their answers.  Alpha is also an ideal place to bring friends who don’t get the whole Christianity thing.  The class meets Mondays from 6—8 pm at the Stroudwater campus.  Contact Darren Bantz or the church office for more information.

Many people are facing today’s  economy with a spirit of fear. You don’t have to be one of them! Financial Peace University shows you how to follow God’s plan to beat debt, build wealth and keep your own economy thriving - even if the nation’s isn’t.  The class meets Mondays  from 6 - 8 pm at the Stroudwater campus.
